Adventures In Calthumbria is an entire universe of its own, an enigma whose meanings are conveyed through runic sagas, royal tapestries, bardic verses, and soon through conjuring magic illusions from the ethereal void (animation, an interactive online RPG games, and more!)

There is a podcast currently in the making, and a book series as well. But Calthumbria's storytelling potential is far greater than that! With enough support, a cartoon show is the least of possibilities! The great adventure begins, so join us, traveler, on this marvelous quest!

About the Creator:

About the Creator

Max Silver (he/they) is the creator of this series. He is the author of multiple unpublished manuscripts, a devious doodling artist, and a banjo-musician.

The tale of Calthumbria began as a short story no longer than 15 pages, written while the world was supposed to end according to the Mayan calendar in 2012. It was not until 2020 that Max began to truly flesh out the series, carving out entire podcast episodes that are still currently in the making. The book is now a trilogy, and the series seems to go on with no end in sight.

It is the creator's hope that Calthumbria brings you joy, laughter, and a healthy means of escape. It is not a bad thing to take breaks from reality every once in a while, so that you may return to life fully recharged! He also hopes this work inspires folks with neurodivergent tendencies to keep working on their passions and never give up. The sooner that stigma against people with various mental health conditions ends, the better.

Statement

Tales of speculative fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy help us broaden our imaginations and come up with creative solutions for real-life problems. When a reality is presented to us that shares some similarities but is ultimately different from our own, it is easier in this imagined space to think outside the box. By allowing ourselves to observe even the most ordinary of things in an environment where hypothetical what-ifs can flourish, there is opportunity for gaining newer perspectives and better insight, because the lens of fiction operates outside the usual perceived range of limited possibilities. As a result, fiction is a powerful tool that can be used to expand your intelligence, exhilarate your senses, and explore the most profound secrets of the universe, whether these mysteries are shrouded by the future, buried under the past, obscured by others, tucked away inside yourself,  or perhaps they are hiding right in front of you, and all it took to see them was a different point of view!

As creatures of habit who get easily bored, we need stories that amuse us. The world can get tedious sometimes...so why not escape into another one every now and then? What rich discoveries you will encounter, in the vibrant realms of Calthumbria! While I cannot guarantee that everything here will make absolute sense, I can guarantee plenty of laughter, silliness, satire, jaunty language, and intrigue.

One element all these worlds have in common is that they are unlike any other galaxies, fictional or otherwise, that you have ever witnessed. There is always a new beginning, another phenomenon, an uncharted territory on the map! I encourage you to take the less-trodden trail. While the journey might get weird, it will be a lot more interesting and worth it in the end.

Sincerely,

Max Silver
